MetWipe removes supported LIST/INFO, bext, iXML and ID3-style RIFF metadata chunks and rebuilds the WAV container locally.
OPEN FREE TOOLThe supported file is processed in the browser without an application file-upload endpoint.
Your original file is left untouched and a separate cleaned copy is generated.
MetWipe re-opens the output and checks supported metadata structures before reporting success.
The WAV cleaner works with RIFF/WAVE files and removes supported LIST, bext, iXML, ID3, cart and DISP chunks. These chunks can include production descriptions and labels. Their removal may also discard information useful to editing software.
Use a short non-sensitive WAV with known descriptive metadata. Note the reported chunks, clean the copy and reopen the downloaded file in an audio player. Check duration and playback, then rescan it for the targeted chunks. Do not overwrite the source recording.
Metadata removal does not alter a spoken name or address. It is not voice anonymization. Unsupported RIFF structures or damaged chunk sizes can fail; never interpret an interrupted operation as verification.
Check that you selected the downloaded copy rather than the original. Read any error before retrying. Try a smaller, non-sensitive file in the same format to distinguish a file-specific issue from a browser limitation. If the problem persists, describe the format, browser and error through Contact.

Yes. RIFF/WAVE files can carry supported LIST/INFO, bext, iXML, ID3, cart and DISP chunks containing labels or production information.
Inspect the WAV, create a cleaned copy, play that output to check it and rescan it for the supported metadata chunks.
No. Spoken names, recognizable voices and other audible information are part of the recording rather than the metadata cleanup.
