Using MetWipe
MetWipe provides browser-based tools and educational information about file metadata and privacy. You may use the service for files you own or are authorized to process. Do not use the service in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
No absolute privacy guarantee
Metadata removal can reduce information embedded in supported file structures, but it cannot guarantee anonymity, security or privacy. Visible file content, filenames, cloud services, social platforms and unsupported metadata may still reveal information. A MetWipe privacy score is a heuristic indicator, not a security certification.
Keep your originals
Always keep an original copy and verify the cleaned output before deleting anything or sharing sensitive material. File formats and browser implementations vary, and software can contain errors.
Availability and changes
MetWipe may add, remove or change features, supported formats and website content. We may also suspend features when needed for maintenance, security or legal reasons.
