XLSX is an OOXML package. The cleaner changes supported document-property fields and supported Company/Manager fields. It does not inspect the meaning of cell contents or make a workbook anonymous.
Use a test workbook with an author property and two cells containing a simple formula. Clean a copy, open it in your spreadsheet editor and check properties, cell values and the formula. Review hidden sheets, comments and external links separately before sharing.
Names in cells, sheet names, revision information, custom properties and embedded media are not all covered by core-property cleanup. Password-protected files and old XLS formats are not supported by this page.
