Local processing

Supported files are processed in the browser rather than uploaded to an application file server.

Verification

MetWipe re-inspects the generated output before reporting supported metadata as removed.

Original preserved

The original file is not overwritten. A separate cleaned copy is generated.

Batch cleanup and ZIP verification

Select multiple supported files to process them locally and download a ZIP. Each file follows its own format-specific cleaner. A batch receipt records supported checks and filenames; it is not a certificate of anonymity.

Check a non-sensitive example

Start with two non-sensitive files in different supported formats. Clean the batch, open the ZIP and verify that both cleaned copies and the receipt are present. Reopen each output in its usual viewer. Then scan the individual outputs to compare targeted metadata findings.

What remains outside this check?

Large batches increase memory use because inputs, cleaned outputs and the ZIP may coexist in browser memory. Use smaller groups if a browser closes or an operation fails. The receipt itself may contain sensitive original filenames.

If the result is unexpected

Check that you selected the downloaded copy rather than the original. Read any error before retrying. Try a smaller, non-sensitive file in the same format to distinguish a file-specific issue from a browser limitation. If the problem persists, describe the format, browser and error through Contact.
