PNG files can contain textual metadata, timestamps and EXIF-style chunks. MetWipe can remove supported metadata chunks while preserving the core PNG image chunks and pixel data.
OPEN FREE TOOLSupported files are processed in the browser rather than uploaded to an application file server.
MetWipe re-inspects the generated output before reporting supported metadata as removed.
The original file is not overwritten. A separate cleaned copy is generated.
PNG can carry text separately from its pixel data. MetWipe targets tEXt, zTXt, iTXt, eXIf and tIME chunks. Its cleaner retains the remaining chunks; it does not blur text visible in a screenshot.
Create or use a non-sensitive PNG with an author or comment text field. Scan it, save the cleaned output, and scan that copy again. Then open it in an image viewer and check dimensions, transparency and visible content. Keep your original if any viewer reports an error.
A screenshot can display usernames, browser tabs or messages even after all supported text chunks are removed. Inspect the picture itself before sharing. Unknown private chunks are outside the listed removal scope.
Check that you selected the downloaded copy rather than the original. Read any error before retrying. Try a smaller, non-sensitive file in the same format to distinguish a file-specific issue from a browser limitation. If the problem persists, describe the format, browser and error through Contact.

Yes. PNG can carry supported textual metadata, EXIF-style data and timestamps in chunks separate from the image pixels.
Inspect the file, create a separate cleaned copy with the supported PNG cleaner, then rescan that downloaded output before sharing it.
No. Usernames, messages, browser tabs and other visible information are pixels and require separate editing or redaction.
